An eBook Kind of World: Summer Reading eBooks from Make A Way Media

I know this is an unusual way to start this, but I am going to say it anyway: I’m not really an ebook kind of gal.

I like paper. I love the smell and the feel and the look, but this is just not the world we live in anymore. We live in an ebook kind of world and I’m okay with it.

There are children now who hold a book in their hands and instead of turning the page, they try to scroll through to the next image. This is their world now and so, for them, I have begun to turn all of my books into ebooks.

An eBook Kind of World: Summer Reading eBooks

The youngest generation of readers are the ones who will carry around the tablet with the handle. They are the ones who ride in the back seat, sprawl out on the floor or sit on the toilet and scroll. And they read, and they laugh, and they learn about the world from looking at beautiful illustrations and they scroll.

They will run to you to show you a picture. They will laugh and be amazed by the color on the screen. They will love their ebook just as much, if not more than I love my dinosaur of a book.

They will begin to pick up sight words from the lyrical writing on their tablet and they will learn to be a better human through the beautiful illustrations, and they will scroll. Forwards and backward and forward again.

They love to read. They love the color. They will scroll and they will change the world.

I like the paper, but this world is theirs now. And the good news is that my publishing house, Make A Way Media, is in the middle on converting ALL eleven of my diverse children’s books into ebooks.

And it couldn’t happen at a better time.

In The Nick of Time

In The Nick of Time

In The Nick of Time is a timely tale about a little Brown Boy who helps Santa save Christmas for one special family in need. Nick Saint never really put a lot of thought into his name until one snowy day in December when he accidentally receives a letter meant for Saint Nick. Realizing there is not much time left until Christmas, Nick opens the letter. The unexpected message inside ultimately leads him on a journey of understanding poverty, gratitude, and service to others while discovering the real meaning of the holiday spirit.

“In The Nick of Time is a story that is beautiful and filled with messages that all children need to hear about poverty, gratitude, and service to others. We believe Santa would be so proud. And so am I.” ~author Deedee Cummings
